A Full Spectrum of Swans Will Sail in Porto Cervo at The Rolex Swan Cup 2006
Photo credit: Carlo Borlenghi / RolexTop international sailors and Swan owners from around the globe will take part in a week of intense competition for the 14th edition of the Rolex Swan Cup (September 11th to 17th), organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Porto Cervo. Nautor's Swan anticipates that more than 100 Swans will come together for this unique competition, ensuring that a wide range of models from the SwanLine will be represented at this biennial event. Performance cruising and racing models will be present, including five Swan 601s, over twenty Swan 45s and four new Swan 100s which will make their debut in this competition.
 
Farr 40 Fleet Gets Set for Close Fought European Championship

The calibre of fleet attracted may raise a few eyebrows and confirms just how competitive the Farr 40 fleet remains at all levels.
 
US Sailing's Rolex International Women's Keelboat Championship Sets Sail to Houston Yacht Club

Held biennially as part of US SAILING's adult championship schedule, the event provides women sailors of all ability levels with high-quality racing and an opportunity to compete against top national and international sailors, while providing skills development and mentoring to young women through the Rolex Next Step program.

The Kiwis won a 'winner take all' race over Alinghi on Sunday to claim Valencia Louis Vuitton Act 12, which in turn put the team on top of the 2006 Louis Vuitton ACC Championship. Also, the ranking points the team earned in Act 12 allowed it to stretch out a lead over BMW Oracle Racing on the challengers-only Louis Vuitton Ranking.

The Irish, led by Ireland Green, had been on top since the beginning of the week and come the start of the final offshore race appeared to have the event all but sewn up. But ultimately, and despite on this occasion fielding three teams, Ireland was pipped at the post for the second consecutive time.

The fight to advance to the final was a battle wire to wire between Emirates Team New Zealand and BMW ORACLE Racing. The Kiwis won what turned out to be a classic match, and followed that up with a close win over Alinghi to take a 1-0 lead in the final.
