A positive reception at the recent London Boat Show has prompted crime writer, Pauline Rowson to spend some further time in the capital. Pauline will be featuring her novel ‘Tide of Death’ at the London Book Fair, 5-7 March, Excel, London. The author commented, ‘Tide of Death is published in the UK in February and introduces the detective duo of DI Andy Horton and his sidekick DS Barney Cantelli. It is set in and around Portsmouth and the Solent.’ This novel and Pauline’s second book, a thriller called In Cold Daylight, which will follow, are being marketed as Marine Mysteries and feature locations on the south coast of England. Pauline Rowson says, ‘Tide of Death is a traditional detective crime novel with a cutting edge, a marine mystery with action. One of my main characters Andy Horton, owns and sails a Bavaria, but it would be giving away too much to say whether he is a goodie or a baddie!’ On her leading character Pauline comments, ‘Andy Horton is honest and intelligent, super fit and self contained. Very disciplined and a bit of a control freak but he has this other side to his nature where he won’t conform. He loves the challenge and freedom of sailing and he rides a Harley Davidson’. Opal Marine provided the author with a Bavaria 42 for promotional activities around the Solent, including dolphin sightings and plenty of wind. Pauline Rowson is encouraging all fiction and sailing enthusiasts to join her at the London Book Fair on Stand 750, Sunday 5 March between 11am and midday or on Monday 6 March between 2pm and 3pm when she will be available for signings and to talk about her books. Tide of Death is published by Fathom on 20 February, priced £6.99, but it can be pre-ordered at any bookshop or on line on Amazon.
