Norfolk, VA: Solveras Payment Systems, an independent payment transaction processing company in Nashville, Tenn., is the primary sponsor for Tim Troy’s solo voyage around the world in the VELUX 5 OCEANS. The company sees this as an opportunity to celebrate the “Spirit of the American Entrepreneur.” Tim’s attempt to be one of the few people to sail around the world alone embodies all the elements small business owners face every day – risk-taking, personal initiative, creative problem solving, and a determination to succeed.

Speaking from Norfolk, Virginia, Tim Troy commented, “It is a dream come true for me to secure this sponsorship. I have worked so hard for such a long time and I am delighted that I am going to achieve my ultimate goal. Thanks to the generous support of Solveras Payment System I have the boost I need to make the start line and be competitive.”

The Solveras team knows first hand what the entrepreneurial spirit means. Founded in 2000 by business partners Tony VanBrackle and Scott Witterholt along with a core group of payment processing industry veterans, Solveras was built from the ground up through years of hard work, unexpected risks, and the pursuit of a shared dream.

“From the moment I heard about Tim’s commitment to this challenge, I knew we wanted to be a part of it,” said VanBrackle, CEO for Solveras. “As fellow entrepreneurs who started a company from scratch, we know how tough it can be to pursue your dreams against the odds. We are very excited to be a small part of making Tim’s dream come true as he sets out on this amazing adventure in the VELUX 5 OCEANS.”

“The connection between what Tim is attempting and what small businesses achieve in our country is significant,” said Witterholt, president of Solveras. “Both are willing to put everything on the line to make their vision a reality. Tim’s willingness to take on such an extraordinary endeavor is inspiring.”
