In a statement issued by Clipper Ventures PLC chairman Sir Robin Knox-Johnston explained that the Clipper 05-06 Round the World Yacht Race would continue after assessment and work is complete on the keels of 10 strong Clipper fleet. The estimated time for work to be completed is 1 month and arrangements have been made to provide crew with flights home for the duration. |
All 10 yachts in the Clipper 05-06 Round the World Yacht Race have been diverted to Subic Bay in the Philippines for keel inspection. This is following discovery of loose keel bolts on Glasgow, one of the 10 Clipper 68 yachts in the race, on Saturday morning (4/2/06). After this, the race team immediately advised all other vessels in the fleet to check their bolts for movement. |
